I have been thinking about this for a very long time, and I think its time that I finally took action and make this benediction a reality.
You see, unlike many of the well off students in richer countries, students in poorer countries do not have access to proper lab equipment; and that is what I want to change. I believe in an equal opportunity for all people across the world, so that someone in a poor country in the Indian subcontinent or someone in Africa has an equal opportunity.
How am I going to do this? Videos.
Thats right, I want to make a website, that hosts videos and demos of free experiments so that students at IGCSE and A Levels do not have to rely on faulty lab equipment to get a real lab experience. I believe that collaboration is key to this project; different people from different countries can make a video of an experiment and host it using a single Youtube Channel.
This idea is still in the works, I am right now, trying to get a proper web-hosting solution as well as accessibility solution, so that everyone can access these files. Typically, the files will also be hosted on file hosting sites as well as being hosted on the Youtube Channel
Right now, I am gathering people to make this happen. There are many prospective candidates, but the truth is I want people that can work together in harmony and make concord decisions.
To qualify, you need the following:
1. A Video Camera
2. A good Lab in your school
3. A co-operative teacher (optional)
4. Knowledge of proper conduct in a laboratory
5. And a good idea of the experiment so that you can explain what is happening
6. Willingness to give a dedicated portion of your time every day of week to help the site
You can be giving any qualification such as the SAT II, AP, IGCSE, A Levels or the IB.
